MEMS SPREAD SPECTRUM XOS

System designers can use SiTime's configurable spread spectrum oscillators to achieve compliance with emission limits without changing the PCB layout or using mechanical shielding.

These spread spectrum oscillators reduce EMI either through spread spectrum timing or by using the FlexEdge™ feature or a combination of both. The factory configurability enables fast sampling for multiple development tasks. This allows design engineers to experiment with oscillators of different configurations for EMI reduction to achieve an optimal balance between EMI and system performance.

Description

Emission compliance failures, which typically occur during the last stage of product development, can result in unplanned troubleshooting efforts and costly production delays.
SiTime’s EMI reduction oscillators ensure emission compliance through spread spectrum clocking and rise / fall time adjustment of the clock signal. They are factory configurable, which allows engineers to quickly reduce emission levels and ensure that customers pass EMI compliance testing.
Products are available as industrial, AEC-Q100-compliant automotive-grade spread spectrum oscillators, and in addition for harsh environments high-reliability aerospace and defense products (ultra-low acceleration sensitivity at 0.1 ppb/g).
