The EU Battery Regulation (EU 2023/1542) replaces the previous Battery Directive and introduces new provisions on the sustainability, performance and labelling of batteries. It regulates the entire life cycle of batteries, from raw material extraction to disposal and recycling, and applies to all battery types.
