Global market leader Champion with strong roots in the region

Jauch Quartz GmbH is one of the "Global Market Leader Champions" in 2024. The award is based on a scientific study conducted every year at the University of St. Gallen. Jauch has already been named a "Future Champion" several times. Now, for the first time, the company has joined the ranks of the "Global Market Leader Champions". The title underlines the company's strong international market position. 

Villingen-Schwenningen – Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Christoph Müller, the so-called "Global Market Leader Index", which lists all world market leaders from German-speaking countries, is compiled every year using freely available company data at the University of Sankt Gallen. Müller also names those companies that have made it to the top of the global industry based on his analyses. Jauch Quartz GmbH is now one of these "Global Market Leader Champions". The entire list of global market leaders is published every year in the business magazine "WirtschaftsWoche". The IHK provides an overview of the award-winning companies in the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg region in a separate brochure.

"We are very proud to have now made the leap from "Future Champion" to "Global Market Leader Champion"," says Thomas Jauch. "It confirms that we have continuously positioned the company well over the past few years."

Five criteria must be met in order to be recognized as a Global Market Leader Champion: The company must have its headquarters in a German-speaking country and be owner-managed. Secondly, the company must be active on at least three continents. The third criterion is an annual turnover of at least 50 million euros. The foreign share of turnover must be at least 50%. And last but not least, the company must occupy first or second place in its market segment.

Founded in 1954, the family-owned company has long been one of the world's leading companies in the field of frequency control products. These high-precision products are quartz crystals and oscillators - components that set the pace in electronic applications. The second, constantly growing business area is battery technology: individual battery solutions, especially in the field of lithium technology. Jauch has been able to further expand its expertise in this demanding field in recent years. In the coming months, Jauch will open its own test and certification center for cells and batteries at its headquarters in Villingen-Schwenningen. "An important step in order to be able to support our customers and partners in the increasingly complex national and international testing and certification procedures," summarized Thomas Jauch.

The entire management team at Jauch agrees that Jauch is well equipped for the future thanks to investments such as the test and certification center. The management of Jauch Quartz GmbH currently consists of four experienced managers. First and foremost is Mr. Thomas Jauch himself, company owner and managing director of the company.

Timo Schmidt has been with Jauch for over twenty years. He played a key role in the development of the battery division and is now Chief Operating Officer.

Marc Schott has been with the company since 2018 and holds the position of Chief Financial Officer. He has also been passing on his specialist knowledge to students as a lecturer at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Heidenheim for many years.

Eberhard Heiser joined Jauch a year ago as Chief Strategy Officer and Deputy Managing Director. As a long-standing sales manager and managing director in the electronics industry, he has a wealth of experience in the manufacturing sector, particularly in a market dominated by the Far East.

"In the seventieth year of the company's history, I look to the future with confidence, not least because of the "Global Market Leader Champion" award. Being named in the same breath as BASF, Lufthansa or Bosch in the global market leader index as a Swabian medium-sized company makes me a little proud," says Thomas Jauch himself.
