Primary lithium cells have a high energy density, which means that they can store a lot of energy in a compact size. This makes them particularly suitable for applications where space and weight are limited, such as portable devices. Furthermore, these cells have a very low self-discharge rate. This means that they can be stored for many years without losing significant capacity, making them ideal for emergency and backup applications. These areas of application can be excellently covered by the standard portfolio of primary Jauch lithium cells, which includes cells such as the CR2 or CR123. In addition to the standard applications described above, Jauch has recently started offering four further product groups for special applications.
Extended lifespan
Extended lifespan cells are used where a long service life is required, and reliability is important. Also where regular recharging is not possible or practical, as is the case with electric door locking systems, for example, where the cell is often in use for years.
Energy type
Cells in the energy type category are characterized by a particularly high capacity, which makes them ideal for industrial applications that require a long-term and maintenance-free power supply, such as sensors and monitoring systems. The CR2E cell with a capacity of 1,000 mAh is particularly suitable for these applications.
Pulse type
Cells in the pulse type category have even better current characteristics when high currents are drawn at certain points. The maximum pulse current for these cells is up to 3,000 mA. Primary lithium cells with a high pulse current are particularly suitable for applications that require high current pulses for short periods. A typical example is emergency defibrillators, which consume only minimal current in standby mode but must deliver extremely high current pulses at the push of a button in an emergency. These batteries can also be found in “nurse call buttons”, which can request immediate help in emergencies.
Battery
The battery product group consists of several cells that are already interconnected to form a battery. This category includes the widely used 9V block:
The 9V block is often used in medical technology in portable medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and insulin pumps, as it offers a reliable and long-lasting power supply. In the safety sector, it is used in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors, where a constant
